Hi, I'm using RayMan to calculated the PET value for a person standing in a street canyon. I'm wondering what air velocity should I give as the input for the calculation. The air velocity at 10m above the roof height is 5m/s while the velocity at the location of a pedestrian in the street canyon is 1.2m/s. Some models define that the air velocity input is at 10m high but I cannot find this in RayMan. I appreciate your help, Best,
RayMan does not contain a wind model. Therefore wind velocity is required for the exact point, that you are calculationg for.
An exception to this is UTCI, that requires wind speed input in 10m (also in RayMan)! If you need to calculate UTCI and one of the other indices, you therefore need two datasets. One with windspeed in your target height (mostly 1.1m) for PT, SET*, or PET, and one for UTCI containing wind speed in 10m.
