Dear dominik For my research I need pet /t met at 5min intervals for period 9am to 4pm. 1.Can I do it with meteorological depart data which provides general data, not my site of concern specific. 2. When use gui data I get an output but on using data file I get a blank output file with headers only. I have tried your suggestions in forum. I used one for from ur instructions manual with Ta, v, Rh and G. Kindly suggest. Thanking u V Raman, National Institute of technology Patna, bihar, india
this indicates that RayMan is unable to read the file properly. It is of course, quite hard to make a guess on what went wrong as long as we don't know how your file looks like. Could you post the first three lines of the file here in the forum? Please do copy / paste the first three lines withour removing or adding any blanks / tabs so the forum users can take a look!

kindly help me in getting the output thanking you V Raman
Dear Dominik I add herewith one more finding namely when i remove G. date. time columns from input file Ta Vp v 25.4 17 1.2 33.5 14.2 4.5 35.5 13.7 3 36.9 11.6 2 i get positive output results Gmax Gact A Tmrt height weight age sex cloth. activ. When i remove G and date but keep time column -- output is again fine (even without checking enumerator/tag in column selection)
if i retain date and time column but remove G and check tag output ok
IN SHORT IF I REMOVE G THE RESULT IS FINE NOT OTHERWISE
I give you the details to save ur time in Q n A , hope ypu can get the thread end now. waiting for your response, please
I copied the first sample of your data to a text file and tried with that. Got output immediately. If there is no trailing or leading additional blanks in your file, the file itself should be fine. You did check "Skip first row", did you? On the right side you only checked "Date", "Time", "Air temperature", "Vapor presure", "Wind speed" and "Global radiation"?
Removing input in the datafile will lead to RayMan replacing the parameter by the setting in the GUI, so this will only help for static things?
What is your location setting in the main form? Are the fields for Surface temperature, Global radiation, and Mean radiant temperature in the main form empty (they must stay entirely empty (no blanks) until you intend to overwrite the calculations by that value)?
I have rechecked my settings as per ur suggestions >'skip first row' was checked >date, time, air temp, vapour pressure, wind speed, G only were checked and the order synchronised thus - 1st column of data input table = 1st entry from top (in 'column selection' part)... 2nd column of input=2nd entry from top..and so on >fields for Surface temperature, Global radiation, and Mean radiant temperature in the main form were empty > location settings in Windows is english (US)
the output is 9999 To fully give you a picture of my process, kindly allow me to send the screen shots to ur email or wherever u say, since they are not getting pasted here. thanking you, and waiting for your response

However, if I recalculate without closing and re-opening RayMan in between I get strange missing values as well. Does it work for you if you close and re-open RayMan?
Thanks, it works indeed !!!! freshly opened Rayman gives the output but repeating the command without closing and reopening Rayman gives 9999 in output. kindly ensure if this is as per design of Rayman or due to some error. but for the moment I can go ahead with my work, thank you so much for your prompt responses.
But I have one more request.... Needless to say I am new to it and I have many querries in mind but for now I request you to get some light on the most worrying question----- From the papers / researches I have seen so far I have found that the researchers have used on site measurements ( for MRT thr pyranometres or Globe thermmtr) to validate the data obtained thr Rayman and other softwares. Due to financial constraints of my institute I want to solely depend on Rayman output data. ( of course by avoiding low altitude sun ). 1. Do you recommend this ? 2. Can you recommend any/some research which is based solely on Rayman ( or a combination of Rayman and other software eg Envimet) so that I could defend my decision? Hope you don t mind the trouble but I trust your advice will mean a lot to me. Thanking you once again and waiting for your valued response
glad it worked! This is most certainly some program error or incompatibility with later Windows Versions (the latest compile of RayMan is still on Windows XP).
For your other question: It is, of course, always better if you do some kind of validation for modeled results. However, RayMan is quite widely used and validated by a lot of different studies in different climates. Nevertheless, this is, of course, up to you.
Would like to add here ( for the possible benefit of others) that WHEN G IS ADDED - only space delimited text input is giving results and not Tab delimited ones, though option in the 'file seperator' allows for space or tab.
WHEN G IS NOT ADDED in the input - both space and tab seperators work. ( i use - windows 7 )
Hi, mi name is Miguel from Spain, I´m trying to upload data files in CSV in Rayman and I have the same problem, I saw you solve it, can you help me please?
Hi Dominik_Mif, i have the same problem with the output data, in my case, a have blank spaces too... What must I do?
