Dear sir, I followed the steps showed in the RayMayManual to calculate SVF. But after I clicked "NEW" button, it gave me an error information "108?7 ist kein gultiger Gleitkommawert". I guess the error was caused by the wrong latitude and longitude format. I tried to change it, but it always became a "?". I tried to edit the location file, but it didn't work.
as you suspected, the error indicates a failed float point conversion. RayMan was unable to convert '108?7' to some number. The cause is most probably that your operating system is using a different set of characters than expected by RayMan. What operatring system are you working on? And what are your systems language settings? Editing the locations list won't help (the strange characters should not be present in the file. They are generated during the conversion from decimal degrees to minutes and seconds.). However, can you write the correct location (in degrees, minutes and seconds) in the RayMan main form? At what time does the characters become odd? Immediately after you typed them, or later, e.g. after clicking another edit field?
Best, Dominik
EDIT: I replaced the subject to make it more significant.
Dear sir, My operating system is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. My system language setting is Chinese (Simplified China). I can write the correct location in the RayMan main form, but when I clicked on another edit field, the location will change to an odd form(like 108?7).I have tried to change the system language to English(US), but the problem cannot be solved. I have also changed another computer which system was Win7, but the problem was still there.
that's what I suspected. The issue arises from the differences in the character set ANSI limited Windows Latin-1 and the Chinese pendant, that does not agree on the character '°'. I'm unsure if there is a workaround for Chinese systems, but I'll check and keep you posted.
