I am writing to you to seek your help with RAYMAN pro. I have previously used RAYMAN 1.2 which gave me output when I just used a data file with air temperature, relative humidity and wind speed. However, now since I have measured values of G I tried to input them in the data file and tried on RAYMAN pro. I get a blank output or 9999. I also tried another method by entering air temperature, humidity, windspeed and mean radiant temperature, but I continue to get the same result. I have been using the correct format in the input data file.
RAYMAN pro however in my case is giving an output only when I use parameters such as air temperature, humidity and wind speed only. For your information may I add that in doing the same I have added a location manually.
Shall be grateful if you could help me solve this problem.
so if I get you right you are using a Datafile with the parameters Date, Time, Air Temperature, Vapour Pressure or Relative Humidity, wind speed and global radiation. This should basically be totally sufficient to estimate the mean radiant temperature and the thermal indices.
An empty output file (containing only the header?) indicates that RayMan was unable to read the input file. Please check if it was imported correctly using the manual (http://www.urbanclimate.net/rayman/RayManManual.pdf).
A manual location should be perfectly fine, as long as it was entered correctly. Please, again, compare to the manual.
Thank you for your reply. I did check that the input file is in accordance with as mentioned in your manual. But I don't get output pertaining to mean radiant temperature when i input air temperature, relative humidity , wind and global radiation. I have not entered any data pertaining to cloud cover.
do you get output if you enter a sample of the values in the file in the user interface (just to test)?
The fields for Surface Temperature and Mean Radiant Temperature are empty, are they?
Could you eventually send an excerpt of the input file to dominik.froehlich[at]dwd.de, so I can check? Of course, please make sure that excerpt will fail as well!
I took a first look at your test files. The input files do work if I delete the last empty row and remove redundant information (if date is specified, do not specify DOY). The cause therefore is most likely some invalid GUI settings.
What puzzles me a little is, that the output for cloud cover is -9999. What is your pre-setting in the GUI for cloud cover? If other, please set cloud cover to 0 and retry.
Thank you for your reply. However, when I tried as per what you suggested the first time RAYMAN Pro gave the output, but thereafter again it is not giving output. I tried loading the file that gave output previously. It doesnt seem to work.
Shall be grateful if you could help me solve this.
